Wandering around the School

[Dakota Dawson]

Dakota looked around the courtyard she wanted to know what was so cool about it. " hmm it looks normal" she said with a slight giggle. her soft black hair fell over her left eye. Most people would just look at her and laugh but she never really cared. walked around she bumped in to someone or thing. "oh I'm sorry" she said and she turned around quickly to look at the person or thing.

She had been walking around reading when all of a sudden someone walked into her and caused her to fall flat on the ground. She looked up to see the person who knocked her down in front of her, although she didn't know who it was. She sighed for a second as she brushed herself off and then stood up. She sighed as she faced the girl. "It's cool, don't worry about it, I'm well my name is Yvana Weasley, but I prefer everyone call me Evie, and I don't believe...we've met, may I ask who you are?" She could tell that she was a fifth year, and a Ravenclaw, and she normally got along with most of the Ravenclaws, it's just the Slytherins she usually had a problem with particularily the Malfoy lot, especially Narcissa. Narcissa was the only one she couldn't stand, the others she could handle to a certain degree, but Narcissa was by far the cruelest of them all.

Dakota smiled and stuck a hand out "Dawson, Dakota dawson" she said with another smile she noticed that the girl was hufflepuff and she just shruged that off. she somewhat got along with them but not all the time. "i dont care waht you call me Evie" she said with a small smile.

"Nice to meet you Dakota." She said as she shook the girl's hand. She was kind of confused, most of the older students she'd met with the exception of Vanessa had been rather, well less welcoming. She was a second year, so maybe that's why. Of course, she would have to keep an eye out on everything." "So you must know your way around here fairly well huh? I'm still learning where everything is I'm only a second year after all. However, I am on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team as a Chaser, just like my mother was on the Griffindor Quidditch team and my dad also on the Griffindor Quidditch team was a Beater, meaning he hit the bludgers away from himself and others when he saw it coming toward him. I've been riding brooms ever since I was little although mom or dad was usually with me, I was ten years old. From then on they started letting me ride on my own which helped develop flying skills which also led me to becoming one of the Hufflepuff Chasers last year, and this year I just sort of took over my old position." She smiled a bit, wondering what Dakota was doing, after all most students who'd been there longer than a year and a half would know there way around somewhat, but this was only their first term of her second year, so she didn't know her way around all that well but definitely liked to cause trouble just like her dad.

she smiled " thats cool" she said looking around " yeah i know my way around but i dont really play quittage" she said . she was interested in what the girl was saying but she spaced out in the middle than came back right before she was done talking

"Yeah, it is, I love flying, and Quidditch is my favorite sport, has to be, since I'm well in a rather large family and most of us play Quidditch especially during the holidays while we can. Most of us are on our house Quidditch teams, there's my cousins the Potters, and then there are my other cousins who have the same last name as I do, the Weasleys. Between all of my dad's siblings it's a wonder our parents don't go insane. My dad, George Weasley lost his twin brother Fred Weasley, when they went up against Lord Voldemort." She sighed when she thought of her dad, she knew that not having her uncle Fred around kind of was upsetting to her dad, but at least he was able to be there, and be able to take care of everything especially to help participate in the joke shop that he and her uncles ran, just like they always did.

she looked at her and smiled " yea that must be hard for your family" she said " hey do you want to sit down?" she had asked as she pointed to a bench
she sort of sighed a bit aswell, the girls story reminded her of her own family. " yea i dont have a family i ran away when i was 11, my mother never liked the fact that she was Veela and all that and she hated the fact that she had powers" she said as she thoguth of the last time her and her mother had been in the same room

"Yeah sure." She walked over to the bench and sat down looking at Dakota. She knew exactly what it was like. "Yeah well when Uncle Fred died it nearly tore my dad apart, but he had to remember that he died for the Greater Good, and that he was sure that uncle Fred was watching over them, guiding them." She took a breath as she sat her book bag on the ground, hoping that the bag didn't spill on the ground like it usually did. She sighed as she then heard Dakota say she doesn't have a family. "Okay, so you left your mother when you were eleven, where's your dad or other family members? How'd you get here to Hogwarts then?" She was now curious and usually if she was curious about something she wouldn't give up until she had an answer, something that usually bothered her parents.

she looked at her as she sat down " well umm my dad is in muggle jail and i have no other family members" she said to her Dakota was not really used to talking about her family. " yea i got to hogworts well i dont really remember how i got here i mean i was walking down a street when a person asked me if i could use a ride i said sure and then he took me to the leaky culdren so i took it that he was magical as well." she said with a small sigh

"Yeah the Leaky Cauldron definitely is a good place to go when you're in London of course, I've been there a couple of times. I remember Dad mentioning when Uncle Harry went there for the first time that Uncle Harry said that, because he was so famous for being the only person who had ever survived once Lord Voldemort decided to kill them, everybody knew who Uncle Harry was before he was even introduced to them. I can't even imagine, of course now his fame has decreased some and things have gone somewhat to normal, as if there really is a normal when you're magical anyway." She smiled a bit as she then looked at Dakota and decided to stop talking about her family, and then looked at her. "So what's your favorite subject here at school?"

" well i really dont have a fav. but umm i really like transfiguration" she said with a smile Dakota never really talked this much to people but than again she really never was the type of person to 'fit in' because of all the black she had and how she was always acting Emo around others it must of scared others from talking to her.

"Mine would have to be a mixture of Transfiguration and Divination, of course, I'm able to do very well in almost all of my classes, but some I do have trouble in, but I usually get help, especially in Professor Longbottom's class, he's always fun to talk to, and he helps me out unlike some of the other professors like the one in Potions." She wondered what was up with Dakota, she seemed a little hesitant to talk to her. She didn't know what it was, maybe it was because she didn't have alot of friends or because she just wasn't a very open person. "You know, there's one thing that my aunt Hermione said, and I'm quoting her on this, Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself. While my father, he's the one who always tells me, there's nothing to fear but fear itself. I guess there really isn't since Lord Voldemort is gone, although some things I think still cause people to be in fear, especially after what happened here last year what with one of my closest friends, Frank Longbottom, Professor Neville Longbottom's son, being murdered here on the grounds and no one knows who did it, although there are some of us trying to figure it out."

she looked at her " yea true" she said with a shrug " i was just thinking" looking around Dakota noticed that she had left her book bag by the door " hey umm be right back i forgot my bag" she said as she slowly stood up

She smiled for a second, she was wondering what was going on and what Dakota was really thinking. She didn't understand how anybody could be so shy, but she figured maybe Dakota didn't know alot of people. She wondered whose side Dakota was on, if she was on her side, the good side or the dark side. Either way she'd find out soon enough.
